Seven Chakras Workshop
A practical map for understanding energy, emotion, and awareness
Why the chakra system caught my attention
When I first heard the word chakras, I assumed it belonged to a practice from India and wasn’t especially drawn to explore it. It felt outside the medical and educational worlds I knew at the time.
That changed when I read Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan. It was the first book I encountered that spoke clearly about color, frequency, and the body’s energetic structure—how the body forms through energy, and how that energy organizes itself through specific centers.
Seeing the body as energy and development
Seeing the body as energy and development
Through my study and experience, I learned that while there are thousands of chakras in the body, there are seven primary ones that form a developmental sequence. Together, they describe a natural progression—from physical safety and grounding, to emotional flow, to personal power, to the heart’s capacity for unconditional love, to expression and communication, to intuition, and finally to awareness and connection with higher consciousness.
What made the chakra system meaningful to me was not its history or terminology, but how clearly it mapped real human experience—sensations, emotions, habits, and recurring life themes.
Chakras as a practical energy reference system
At its core, this work is about energy—frequency and vibration. The chakra system gives us a way to understand where energy flows easily and where it becomes restricted.
Rather than approaching challenges as isolated problems, chakras offer a reference point. When something feels off, the system helps orient attention. Is energy stuck in the belly? Is expression being held back at the throat? Is there a lack of grounding or a sense of disconnection?
The chakras don’t tell us what to believe. They give us a map to explore what’s happening.
A house we live within
In this workshop, we also explore the chakra system through the metaphor of a seven‑story house—a living structure through which energy rises, circulates, and returns. Each chakra functions like a room within the house, and the “vents” between floors allow awareness to move downward into daily life and lived experience to rise upward into wisdom.
This metaphor helps make the system practical, embodied, and easy to understand.
What we explore together in the workshop
In this three‑hour workshop, we move through each of the seven main chakras, looking at:
common physical, emotional, and energetic patterns
what imbalance can feel like in everyday life
how each chakra relates to the developmental sequence
techniques that support balance, harmony, and circulation
We also explore the core themes of each chakra:
Root: safety, grounding, basic needs
Sacral: emotion, relationship, creativity
Solar Plexus: identity, confidence, personal power
Heart: compassion, healing, connection
Throat: communication, truth, expression
Brow: intuition, insight, inner wisdom
Crown: awareness, unity, presence
This workshop can serve as an introduction for those new to the chakra system, and it can also deepen understanding for those who have worked with chakras before.
Support you can return to afterward
Because the chakra system contains a lot of information, the workshop includes extensive visual handouts and reference materials. These can be used after the session as quick guides—whether you’re working with yourself or supporting others.
Many people find it helpful to return to these materials when a particular issue arises and they want a clearer place to begin.
An invitation
